Rehearsal Plan
12 Saturday or Sunday afternoon rehearsals are planned for the full choir, alternating the two locations (Ascona and Pura) , and 7 evenings for each of the two groups separately, i.e. 7 dates in Ascona with the Sopra Ceneri group and 7 dates in Pura with the Sotto Ceneri group. We come up with an average of two rehearsals a month.
Reading music is not required: the songs must be studied at home. CDs are supplied at the beginning of a new season (normally October) and they offer an easy way to learn the different voice sections individually recorded.
New voices will be accurately selected and limited to the actual vacant positions
The new comers will be helped and supported with an extra hour’s practice with Oskar Boldre before the usual afternoon session (of course all singers are welcome to participate!).
The afternoon rehearsal is intense and rich: at the beginning warming up exercises and the improvisation ritual, a healthy habit and a vital and joyous time to share. Work on the new and old songs follows, to end up with the OM improvisation.
