Suono o Son Desto?
A meditative Concert
A meditation journey that traces its path through different traditions. The voice interprets sacred songs from different cultures: Indian ragas, African polyrhythms, improvisations , lullabies… with a free and curious approach.
A show created and performed by Oskar Boldre
Voice, shruti box, water drums , tampura and percussions
This performance proposed by Oskar Boldre originates from the primal energy of sound. Sound that vibrates… in the air… in the body… in the water.
The concert can lead to a meditative state. A state that the musician himself must experience to let music go through a resounding body. Emotion and vision can convey more information than spoken language. No words are used. Improvisation is the “Language” here, that like in an imaginary journey , wanders through various landscapes and stops in each of them to receive the emotions it inspires.
The “stages” of the journey are represented by the instruments that accompany the voice: the shruti box and the tampura are typical instruments That in Indian Classical Music accompany the voice, the favourite instrument to tell about feelings, moods, seasons and colours ; the water drums come from Africa and bring us back to the sound of the Earth - grave, deep and soft - they bring us back in touch with our roots and with the child within…master of the art of being surprised.
