Voce Danzante con Respiro
Voice, Overtone Singing and Live Electronics
Imagination and the emotions experienced by a resonating body are the elements from which this journey originates…. A journey that along the way touches those primal voices that we still have inside…somewhere in the body’s memory.
The newborn’s voice germinates from a seed. In a space beyond the boundaries of languages the newborn’s voice meets the voice of the old sage. The newborn grows to finally meet the old sage… and the journey returns to the seed.
Rhythm and breath guide this cyclical journey of return.
Oskar Boldre’s performance is a sound-journey. He takes the listener as a travelling companion through different landscapes, consisting of original compositions or unusual arrangements of classical music. Together the travellers stop to admire the view, and then continue the journey, by means of improvisation, and proceed to the next outlook.
Improvisation is a form of free prayer, praise to the divine, but it is also a celebration, a hymn to joy… like a play, which develops into a delightful kind of exploration. This exploration reaches beyond vocal styles and discovers new paths such as overtone singing.
Oskar Boldre performs improvisations and his own compositions, and also upon request
Syrinx (C.Debussy 1912)
Adagio (B.Marcello, 1713)
Bolero (M.Ravel 1928).
The powerful energy of rhythm and breath are the elements which guide and lead us on this sonic path.
